Who We Are…
The Stockton Stingrays beep baseball team is a group of blind and visually impaired athletes partnered with sighted volunteers to compete in an adaptive version of America’s pastime. We are co-ed and range in age from 16 to 60+, a diverse group bonded together by the love of the game.
What is Beep Baseball?
In beep baseball, all fielders/batters are blindfolded (regardless of visual acuity) in order to maintain a level playing field. Players bat a beeping ball into play then run towards a buzzing base, scoring if they reach before a fielder gains full control of the ball. A sighted pitcher, catcher and field spotters round out the lineup. Click for complete RULES OF THE GAME.
The Stockton Stingrays farms a traveling team registered with the National Beep Baseball Association (NBBA) which competes in an international World Series each summer. Our regular season runs March-August including conditioning, practices and community exhibition games. Please check our schedule in the top paragraph.
Players Wanted!
If you are visually impaired or know someone who would enjoy the health, social and esteem-building benefits of beep baseball, please contact us.
